Playground Mulch Installation and Guidelines
- Measure the length and width of the play area and multiply the two
numbers to obtain the square footage. It is recommended to have a ninefoot radius of shock-absorbing material around play equipment that is over
eighteen inches tall.
- If beginning a new play area, the depth of playground mulch needs to be at
least 12 inches. In this case divide the square footage by 50 for the number
of cubic yards you will need.
- If refreshing an established area, determine how much will be needed to
have at least 12 inches depth when completed. Contact us and we can help
determine how much material you need.
- After delivery of your new playground mulch spread evenly throughout the
area while maintaining 12 inches of depth.
Maintenance Guidelines
- Visually inspect on a weekly basis the entire playground area. Remove all
foreign material (i.e. trash, tree branches, etc.).
- Rake the Playground Mulch to keep the surface level and the thickness to
the original recommended depth. The depth of the Playground Mulch
needs to have at least 12 inches.
