Mulch

  • Natural Brown- double hammered hardwood, dark brown almost black in color.
  • Rustic Brown- triple hammered hardwood, mocha brown and easy to spread.
  • Painted Brown- this is hardwood mulch we run through a coloring process to give it its color. We use an EPA approved paint made especially for mulch; color of a Hershey’s bar.
  • Painted Black- this is hardwood mulch we run through a coloring process to give it its color. We use an EPA approved paint made especially for mulch; jet black in color.
  • Painted Red- this is hardwood mulch we run through a coloring process to give it its color. We use an EPA approved paint made especially for mulch; brick red in color.
  • Cedar- blondish-brown in color and soft in texture. Bugs do not like the smell of it and it does not decompose as fast as regular mulch.
  • Playground Mulch- blondish-brown in color, soft in texture and 2-3” chips. Our playground mulch meets all ADA, CPSC requirements. A copy of the certification is available upon request.
  • Mini Pine Nuggets- These small pine wood nuggets can be used as an alternative to other mulches. Just like hardwood mulch, as this product breaks down it gives added nutrients back to the soil.

Soils

  • Fill Dirt- local clay dirt that may have roots, rocks, and clumps. Its main use is for back filling large holes, building roads, house foundations, dams, and levees.
  • Screened Soil- this is the fill dirt that has gone through a screening process to remove and foreign debri. It is an excellent soil to use for leveling yards and for seeding or sodding new lawns, especially fescue or zoysia.
  • Garden Mix- this material is excellent for starting new flower beds and gardens. Consists of 35% leaf compost, 35% dirt, 15% sand and 15% processed pine. You can plant directly into this product without having to till.
  • Soil Conditioner- this material is excellent for starting new flower beds, shrubs, and trees. Also, great for potting plants. Consists of 75% leaf compost, 15% sand, and 10% processed pine. It will need to be tilled into the existing soil if going deeper than 6 inches because it does not have any dirt in it.

Soil Amendments

  • Leaf Compost- composted leaves that are ground up. On average, our leaf compost sits 13-14 months before it is sold. While it is in the composting state, we turn the compost every 3- 4 months to ensure it decomposes at the proper rate for uniformity. Our leaf compost is certified by the US Composting Council. We recommend using tilling leaf compost into the existing soil to help break up the clay.
  • Processed Pine- pulverized pine, almost the consistency of dirt with pine chips. This product can be used as mulch or to break up clay soil.
  • Soil Conditioner- this material is excellent for starting new flower beds, shrubs, and trees. Also, great for potting plants. Consists of 75% leaf compost, 15% sand, and 10% processed pine. It will need to be tilled into the existing soil if going deeper than 6 inches because it does not have any dirt in it.
  • Pine Straw- Compressed pine straw bales are available at all locations. Pine straw can be used as an alternative to mulch, and offers similar benefits to your landscaping and soil needs.

Sand

  • White Masonry Sand- primarily used for building purposes or sand boxes. May also be used for leveling yards.
  • Red Fill Sand- this is excellent for leveling or building up Bermuda lawns.

Washed Gravel

  • Pea Gravel- ¼- ½ inch in diameter; used for walkways, dog pens, and around patios.
  • Medium Gravel- ¼ inch up to 2 inches in diameter; used for walkways, dog pens, around patios, and French drains.
  • Reclaimed Oversize Gravel: 2-3 inches in diameter; main purpose is for erosion control, but is also used for French drains. The manufacture has discontinued the regular Oversize Washed Gravel.  Reclaimed Oversize Gravel will be dirty as it comes off of the roof of warehouses.

Limestone

  • Gabion- Baseball to Football size; used in drainage area, but not suitable for around shrubs because of its PH balance. This product is only available at the Highway 64 and Southaven locations for pickup.
  • #10 Limestone- ¼ minus (¼ inch down to powder); used for walkways, paver base, retaining walls, and patios.
  • #8 Limestone- ¼ – ½ inch in diameter; used for walkways and patios.
  • #57 Limestone- 1-2 inches in diameter; used for walkways, driveways, and parking pads.
  • CR610 Limestone- goes from powder up to 1-2 inches in diameter; used for driveways or a driveway base.

Crushed Concrete

  • Light brown in color, goes from powder up to 2 inches in diameter; used for driveways, road base, and parking pads. This product is only available at the Highway 64 locations for pickup.

Natural Stone

  • Creekstone- A natural, smooth stone that is brown in color; size ranges from 2-3 inches thick.
  • Fieldstone- We offer an array of Arkansas fieldstone, with various cuts and sizes. This natural stone can vary in the darkness of its color; but is considered a blue/gray stone.
  • Yellow Flagstone- This natural stone varies in size and thickness.
  • Gray Flagstone- This natural stone is 2 inches thick and varies in width size.
  • Natural Brown Flagstone- This natural stone is 2 inches thick and varies in width size.
  • Crab Orchard Flagstone- This natural stone is 2 inches thick and varies in width size.
  • Chopped Yellow Flagstone- This natural stone is cut 4 inches wide and 4 inches thick and is random in length.
  • Flagstone Basket- Varies in color (inventory depends on color availability from quarries; gray, crab orchard and brown are usually in stock). All 1-inch, with average diameter of 9 inches.
  • River Rock- This stone is offered in several sizes. Currently, we have ½ inch-3/4 inch baskets, ¾ inch to 1.5 inch baskets, 1.5 to 3 inch (most popular) baskets, 4 to 7 inch baskets and 6 to 14 inch baskets.
  • Boulders- 2-man (each boulder weighs approximately 100 pounds) and 3-man boulders (each boulder weighs approximately 1000 pounds each) are available.
  • White Decorative Rock- This is a decorative rock used in flower beds or rock gardens. While it is predominately white, there are multiple color spectrums and hues in this natural stone. It will not match the color of bags of white decorative rock that can be purchased at various home supply stores. This product is polished marble chips, and ranges from ¼ – 2 inches in diameter.

Sod

Sod is available year round at the Summer Avenue location and seasonally at the Southaven location. Please call for availability.

  • Tifway 2 Bermuda Sod (requires 8 hours full sun light daily)This grass is recommended for residential and commercial landscapes, golf courses, parks and athletic fields.
    Shade Tolerance:Has high light requirements – requires full sunlight most of the day. Bermuda should not be used in shady areas.
    Heat/Cold Tolerance:Has excellent heat tolerance. Not as cold tolerant as other turf type Bermudas
    Dormancy:Enters dormant stage in winter months. Stops growing when temperatures drop below 50F for sustained period; turns tannish color in the winter. Bermuda requires 65F ground temperature for significant growth. Slightly slower green-up in spring that other turf type Bermudas.
    Water Requirements:Will tolerate sustained periods of drought if well established. However, responds well to irrigation during dry conditions if higher quality turf grass desired. Should be kept moist during sustained periods of extreme cold. Wear Resistance Recovery:Very good wear resistance and will withstand heavy traffic. Very good injury recovery-spreads rapidly by rhizomes in warm season.

  • Myers Zoysia (requires 6 hours partial sunlight daily)Myers Zoysia is a flexible warm season turf grass utilized for many applications. Myers has become the most popular of the Zoysia grasses because of its uniform medium texture and tolerances for heat and cold. It provides a plush, high density, deep green cover mid-April through early October. This grass is recommended for residential and commercial landscapes, golf courses, athletic fields and recreation areas.
    Shade Tolerance:Good shade adaptation. Tolerates areas up to 50% shade or filtered sunlight. Will not tolerate heavy shade.
    Heat/Cold Tolerance: Very good heat and cold tolerance. Best overall cold tolerance of any warm season turf grass.
    Dormancy: Enters dormant stage in winter months. Stops growing when temperatures drop below 55F for sustained periods; turns tannish color in winter months. Myers requires 65F ground temperature for significant growth.
    Water Requirements:Is extremely drought tolerant. However, due to slow growing habit, should be watered regularly to encourage growth.
    Wear Resistance Recovery:Has best wear resistance of any turf grass – tolerates heavy traffic. This grass spreads slowly by rhizome -slow to repair from injury.

  • Palisades Zoysia (requires 4 ½ hours filtered sunlight daily)Palisades is a vegetative produced, medium broad textured, high density turf. It is considered suitable for home lawns, golf fairways and roughs, sports fields, industrial parks and highway mediums. It has uniform density, rapid re-growth rate, has few seed heads and has a low thatching tendency. It does not need a lot of water, is shade tolerant, cold hard, heat tolerant, and salt tolerant. Palisades is a medium to coarse textured turf noted for its shade tolerance and low water use requirements. It will tolerate mowing as close as ½” with good weed competitions ideally as high as 2” to 2 ½” for home lawns. Palisades close mowing would permit use on golf course fairways especially where water availability is of concern.

  • Fescue- Fescue requires total shade. It is seasonably available by pre-order. Fescue must be laid within 24 hours of it being cut at the sod farm. Fescue is only available as a full pallet order.

Firewood

  • We offer seasoned firewood throughout the year at all three locations. Our wood is seasoned white and red oak, and the perfect size for fire pits, chimeneas, and fireplaces. We sell firewood by the face cord (4 feet wide by 16 feet long), or by the square foot (this allows you to get as little or as much as you would like). We also deliver firewood.
